Welcome! I'm Candace, the lead photographer and founder of Captured by Candace. I created CBC for vibrant and authentic couples like you. What started as a fulfilling hobby turned into the best job in the world.

I am dedicated to providing quality, inclusive wedding photography for couples of all backgrounds. As a Black wedding photographer, I understand the importance of being featured in your photos as true reflections of who you are as individuals and partners.

These collections cover the wedding days I see most often. If your celebration runs longer, spans more than one day, or takes us somewhere new, I'd love to build a custom collection around it. Twelve hour days, welcome dinners, and destination weddings are all on the table.

Elopements & Intimate Celebrations

The Intimate Story

For weekday elopements and intimate celebrations: a backyard, a rented restaurant, a quiet spot that means something to you. Up to 20 guests. Includes a Fresh Start session and up to 4 hours of wedding day coverage, with the option to extend up to 6 hours. Available Monday through Friday. Ceremony & Celebration Film available as an add on.

Just the Two of You at the Courthouse

Just a judge, your person, and maybe a handful of witnesses. Courthouse ceremonies are their own kind of magic. Simple, sweet, and over before lunch. Coverage starts at 3 hours. Available Monday through Thursday.

couples ask

How do I know which collection is right for me?

That's exactly what our consultation call is for. I don't believe couples should have to figure this out alone. I'll ask about your day, your guest count, your timeline, and your vision, and together we'll find the right fit. No pressure, no wrong answer.

What's the difference between The Signature Story and The Legacy Story?

Film. Both give you 10 hours of photography with a second shooter. The Legacy Story adds 10 hours of film, from getting ready through the last dance, plus a longer two hour engagement session. If you'd like film with Classic or Signature, you can add Ceremony & Celebration Film or Full Day Film instead.

Do I really need a second photographer?

For most weddings, yes, and it's already included in every collection. While I'm with you getting ready, they're capturing your partner's first reaction. I determine what your day needs during our consultation.

How does the album foundation credit work?

Every collection includes a $500 credit, a thank you gift applied toward your custom heirloom album. After your wedding we schedule a private design session where we go through our full Dream Books sample kit together, design every spread, and proof until it's exactly right. Everything is fully customizable.

Which engagement session is included with my collection?

Every collection includes an engagement session, and the length varies by collection (1 hour with Classic, 90 minutes with Signature, 2 hours with Legacy). You can also upgrade or book a standalone session at any time. The four options are Fresh Start ($750 · 1hr), New Beginnings ($875 · 90min), Happily Ever After ($1,000 · 2hrs), and Destination Session (from $1,750 · up to 2.5hrs · includes travel).

When will we see our photos?

You'll receive a highlight gallery within 1 to 2 weeks. Some sneak peeks may also appear on Instagram @capturedbycandace. Your full gallery is delivered within 6 to 8 weeks.

Can our family order prints?

Yes. Once your gallery is delivered, family and loved ones can order prints and products directly from the gallery.

Do you travel for destination weddings?

Yes, and I'd love to. Reach out for a custom quote that includes travel. Every wedding is unique and I'm happy to build something that works for your vision and location.
